Routers supplied by ASH NET arrive pre-configured for your connection – no settings to enter.
Plug in
- Connect the power adapter and switch the router on.
- Using the Ethernet cable in the box, connect the router’s WAN/LAN port (the first of the ports on the back, marked WAN) to the fibre box (ONT) port named in your activation email – usually LAN1.
- Wait about two minutes. The internet light turns on once the connection is up.
- On the bottom of the router is a label with the Wi-Fi name (it starts with ASHNET_ followed by four digits) and password. Connect your devices to that network, or scan the QR code on the label.
- VX230v with a home phone: plug the handset into the Phone 1 port – see Setting up your home phone.
Only the router plugs into the fibre box. Do not plug phones, TVs or computers into the ONT – its other ports are not connected to your service.
Manage it with the Aginet app
Install the free TP-Link Aginet app (App Store or Google Play) to change the Wi-Fi name and password, set up a guest network, parental controls and mesh units, and see who is connected. It works with the HX510 and VX230v. Or log in at 192.168.0.1 in a browser – see Logging in to your ASH NET router.

No internet after plugging in?
Check the ONT lights (Power and PON solid, LAN blinking), check the cable is in the port named in your email, and remember activations happen at the scheduled time – not first thing in the morning. Then follow No internet – what to check.
