Simultaneous ring and shared line (one number on several phones)

There are two ways to have one ASH NET number ring in more than one place:

  • Simultaneous ring rings other phone numbers at the same time – your desk line and your mobile, for example. The other numbers can be anywhere, on any network.
  • Shared line lets up to six devices (desk phone, computer app, mobile app) register on the same ASH NET number. They all ring together and you answer on whichever is handy.

Simultaneous ring

  1. Log in to the VoIP portal, open the Voice tab and click the number.
  2. From the Incoming Calls menu choose Simultaneous Ring.
  3. Enable each number you want to ring alongside your own. For each one:
    • select Direct to handset so the call goes straight to that phone without going through its own call-flow rules;
    • set Ring this number to a time schedule (default: at all times);
    • optionally set Seconds delay before ringing so, for example, your mobile only starts ringing after 10 seconds.
  4. Click Save.

A mobile with voicemail can “win” the call if it answers first – set a delay on the mobile, or shorten your own diversion timer, so callers reach the right voicemail box.

Shared line – several devices on one number

  1. On the same Simultaneous Ring page, tick Enable shared line call appearance feature on this line and click Save. (Shared line is off by default.)
  2. Register your primary device with your phone number and SIP password as usual.
  3. For each extra device, log in with your number followed by a dash and a digit from 1 to 5 – for example 09XXXXXXX-1 for the computer app and 09XXXXXXX-2 for the mobile app. Each device needs a different suffix; the password is the same.

Maximum six devices including the primary. When someone calls, every registered device rings. If you are somewhere without internet, add your mobile number with simultaneous ring as well.
