Picking up a call ringing on another phone
Pickup lets you answer a call that is ringing on a colleague’s phone from your own. It is enabled on every line by default.
*88– group pickup: answers the latest call ringing on any phone in your group or account.*89– directed pickup: you are asked for the number or extension, then pick up that phone’s call.*89followed by the extension (for example*89800) picks up extension 800 without the prompt.
To stop other people picking up calls to a line (or that line picking up others), open the line in the VoIP portal, choose Call Pickup from the Incoming Calls menu and tick the disable box.
Transferring a call from a desk phone or ATA handset
#0then the number – attended transfer: the caller is put on hold while you speak to the other person; hang up to complete the transfer.##then the number – blind transfer: the caller is sent straight through.
Most IP desk phones also have a Transfer key that does the same thing. In the Secure VoIP app see blind transfer and attended transfer.
Transfer options – recall unanswered transfers
If a blind-transferred call is not answered it can come back to you: in the VoIP portal open the line, choose Transfer Options from the Outgoing Calls menu, switch on Recall enabled for blind transfers, optionally enter text to prepend to the caller ID of recalled calls (for example “RECALL”), and click Save Changes.
