Block nuisance numbers, reject anonymous or overseas calls, or allow only a list of approved callers to reach a line.
- Log in to the VoIP portal, open the Voice tab and click the number.
- From the Incoming Calls menu choose Blacklist and Whitelist Options.
- Tick Reject all anonymous calls to block callers who hide their number, and/or Reject all calls from overseas.
- In the Blacklisted or Whitelisted Callers box enter numbers one per line. Use
*as a wildcard –0800*matches every 0800 number. - Set Matching Caller Action to Blacklist (block the listed numbers) or Whitelist (allow only the listed numbers).
- Optionally enter a forwarding number for blocked callers; otherwise they hear a busy tone.
- Tick Block all NZ mobiles from calling this number if you want mobile callers to hear a message that mobiles are not accepted.
- Click Save.
Test after changes – a wildcard that is too broad can block callers you want. Caller ID can be withheld or spoofed, so combine blocking with call screening where it matters.
