Call barring and authorisation PIN codes (outgoing calls)

Control what a line can dial – block overseas or premium calls on a reception phone, or require a PIN before toll calls.

Call barring

  1. Log in to the VoIP portal, open the Voice tab and click the number or extension.
  2. From the Outgoing Calls menu choose Call Barring and enable it.
  3. Tick the call types to block: non-local calls; all fixed-line calls; all mobile calls; all toll-free calls; all overseas calls except Australia; all overseas calls; or all outgoing calls. Emergency (111) calls stay allowed unless you explicitly block them – which we do not recommend.
  4. Click Save.

Authorisation PIN code

Instead of blocking calls, ask for a PIN before certain calls connect:

  1. From the Outgoing Calls menu choose PIN Code and switch it on.
  2. Enter the PIN.
  3. Choose when it is required: all calls; NZ mobile and overseas calls; overseas calls only; overseas calls excluding Australia; or expensive overseas destinations only.
  4. Click Save. Callers hear a prompt and key in the PIN before the call goes through.
