Polycom phones – auto-provisioning

  1. In the VoIP portal go to Voice → Phones → Add a new phone, choose Polycom and the model, enter the MAC address (label on the back, or Settings → Status → Network on the phone), select the accounts and line keys, and save. Ask us for the Polycom provisioning server address if you do not have it.
  2. On the phone press Home, scroll to Settings → Status → Network → TCP/IP Parameters and note the IPv4 Addr. Open it in a browser on the same network and log in as admin.
  3. Factory reset first: Utilities → Phone Backup & Restore → Global Settings → Restore. After a reset the phone will not accept the default admin password 456 for the web interface – on the handset go to Settings → Advanced, enter 456, choose Administration Settings → Change Admin Password and set a new one, then log in to the web interface with it.
  4. Go to Settings → Provisioning Server and set Server Type to HTTPS and Server Address to the provisioning server address. Leave the other settings and click Save.
  5. The phone reboots and configures itself from our provisioning server.
