Two-factor authentication adds a one-time code, emailed to you, to every login. We recommend it for every account – if a password leaks from a computer or phone, 2FA stops someone using your account to make calls at your expense.
Turn on 2FA for the whole account
- Log in to the VoIP portal and open Account → Details.
- At the bottom of the page set Two Factor Authentication to Enabled (for all users) – Email Verification.
- Optionally tick prompt only once from the same location so you are not asked again when logging in from the same internet address. Leave it unticked for the highest security.
- Click Update Details and log out. On your next login a verification code is emailed to the address on the Details page.
Only some users
Choose Enabled (account login only) to require 2FA just for the main account number, or go to Account → Logins, click a user and set 2FA for that user alone. If you use an API login, leave 2FA off for that user only.
Keep the email address on the account current – it is where the codes are sent.
