Porting your phone number to ASH NET

In most cases you can keep your existing landline or business number when you move to ASH NET. Porting is free, and usually takes about 5–10 working days once your current provider confirms the request. We can also give you a new number.

What we need

  • The number(s) to port.
  • The account holder name and account number with your current provider – exactly as printed on their latest invoice. A mismatch is the most common reason a port is rejected.
  • Whether the number is delivered over ISDN or has a fax service (leave these blank if you are not sure).
  • Your preferred port date and time, and a contact number and email for updates.

How to request it

Email [email protected] with the details above (or reply to your sign-up confirmation). Porting several numbers or a number range? Send us the list – a spreadsheet is fine – and we will lodge them together.

What happens next

  1. We lodge the port with your current provider and email you when a date is confirmed.
  2. Once approved, the number usually appears in your VoIP portal the day before the port, so you can set up voicemail, forwarding and any call flow in advance.
  3. On the port date the number moves to ASH NET, normally with only a short interruption.

Do not cancel your old phone service until we confirm the port has completed – cancelling first can lose the number. Your old provider may still need notice for the account itself.

Mobile numbers can be ported too – see the mobile section of our FAQ.
