Nameservers
For your website and email to work on ASH HOST, your domain must use our nameservers:

If we registered the domain for you, this is already set. If the domain is with another registrar, log in there and change the nameservers to the three above (some registrars only take two – that is fine). Changes take from a few minutes up to 24–48 hours to spread across the internet.
Keeping the domain elsewhere
You can also keep your existing DNS and just point records at us: an A record for yourdomain.co.nz and www to your hosting server’s IP address (ask us or see the welcome email), and if we host your email, MX records to host.ashhost.co.nz plus the SPF/DKIM records from cPanel → Email Deliverability. With this set-up you manage DNS at the other provider, not in cPanel.
Editing DNS records in cPanel
When the domain uses our nameservers, edit records in cPanel → Domains → Zone Editor: click Manage next to the domain to add or change A, CNAME, MX and TXT records – for example a TXT record to verify Google or Microsoft 365, or MX records to move email to Microsoft 365 while the website stays with us.
Do not delete records you do not recognise – cPanel creates several it needs. If in doubt, email us the change you want and we will make it.
