ASH HOST takes daily backups of every hosting account. They are a safety net for server problems and accidental deletions – but we recommend keeping your own copy as well, especially before big changes.
Restore from our backup
Email [email protected] or log a ticket with the domain, what needs restoring (whole account, the website files, a database, or a mailbox) and the date to restore from. Restoring overwrites the current version, so tell us if there is anything recent to keep.
Download your own backup
- In cPanel open Files → Backup.
- Under Partial Backups download the Home Directory (website files and email) and each MySQL database. Or click Download a Full Account Backup, choose Home Directory as the destination and download the archive when it is ready (you get an email).
- Store the files somewhere safe off the server.
WordPress
A backup plugin (for example UpdraftPlus) can send scheduled copies to Google Drive or Dropbox. Our website maintenance plans include monitored backups.
