The Tenda AC6 AC1200 cannot tag the internet VLAN, so it will not work on ASH NET fibre no matter how it is configured.
Fibre in New Zealand carries the internet connection on VLAN 10. A router that has no VLAN or 802.1Q setting on its WAN cannot see the connection at all – there is no workaround in the settings.
What to do instead
- Use one of the routers we sell – they arrive configured for ASH NET
- Rent one from us for $7.50 a month on a 12-month plan
- Buy any router that lists VLAN tagging, 802.1Q or a New Zealand UFB profile – see the other brands
- Keep the Tenda AC6 AC1200 for Wi-Fi only, plugged into the LAN port of a router that can tag the VLAN

These arrive set up for ASH NET – plug them into the fibre box and they work. On a 12-month plan you can rent one for $7.50 a month instead of buying.
