Ubiquiti Router Settings

Set your Ubiquiti router to DHCP and tag VLAN 10 – the steps and menu names for Ubiquiti firmware.

Before you start

Connect the router's WAN / internet port to the port on your fibre box (ONT) that we activated – it is in your activation email, and it is usually the one with the light on. Then open the router's settings page.

1. Set the internet connection to DHCP

  1. UniFi: Settings > Internet > WAN, set IPv4 Connection to DHCP.
  2. airCube: Network > Basic, Network Mode = Router, Connection Type = DHCP, NAT enabled.

2. Tag the internet VLAN (VLAN 10)

  1. UniFi: in Settings > Internet, open the primary WAN and its Advanced section, turn on VLAN ID and enter 10.
  2. airCube: open the VLAN section, set Status On and VLAN ID 10, then Save.
  3. EdgeRouter: create a VIF on eth0 with VLAN 10 and run the DHCP client on it.

3. Check it works

Give the router a minute, then look at its status page: the WAN or internet section should show an IP address from us. Open a website to confirm. If the WAN stays blank, the VLAN or the DHCP setting has not taken – check both, then restart the router.

The exact wording of the UniFi WAN settings moves between UniFi OS versions – look for the VLAN ID field on the primary WAN.
