The settings for the TP-Link Archer VR2600 AC2600
These are the only settings ASH NET fibre needs. There is no username or password – we stopped using PPPoE in January 2026.

Step by step
1. Connect the TP-Link Archer VR2600 AC2600 to the fibre box
Run an Ethernet cable from the router's WAN / internet port to the activated port on your fibre box (ONT) – the port is named in your activation email and normally has a light beside it. Power the router on and connect a computer or phone to it. If you use a phone, turn mobile data off so it cannot fall back to the mobile network.
2. Open the settings

3. Set the internet connection to DHCP
- Go to Advanced > Network > Internet.
- Set Internet Connection Type to Dynamic IP.
- Open Advanced Settings on the same page and set MTU Size to 1500; leave Internet Port Negotiation Speed on Auto.
If the router asks for a line speed, use 100/20 for Fibre 100, 500/100 for Fibre 500, 920/500 for Fibre 920, or leave it on automatic.
4. Tag the internet VLAN as 10
- Go to Advanced > Network > IPTV/VLAN and turn it on.
- Set Mode to New Zealand-UFB if your model offers it – that sets VLAN 10 for you. If it does not, choose Custom.
- On Custom: tick 802.1Q Tag for Internet, set Internet VLAN ID to 10 and Internet VLAN Priority to 0.
- Save. The router reconnects in a minute or two.
5. Save and reconnect
Apply the settings and give the router a minute or two – most reboot themselves. The status page should then show an internet or WAN IP address from us.
6. Check it works
Open a website, then run a speed test. If the WAN stays blank, go back over steps 3 and 4 – one of the two has not saved – and restart the router.
7. If it still will not connect
Factory reset the TP-Link Archer VR2600 AC2600 (hold the reset pin for about ten seconds with the power on), set it up again from step 2, and make sure you are using the port on the fibre box named in your activation email. Ex-provider routers are sometimes locked and will not show a VLAN page at all.
Deco mesh units are set up in the Deco app: More > Advanced > IPTV/VLAN, then choose New Zealand-UFB if it is listed, or Custom with 802.1Q tag on and VLAN ID 10. Not every Deco model has the IPTV/VLAN page. The TP-Link HX510 and VX230v we sell are already configured – just plug them in.
