The settings for the Technicolor TG789vac v2
These are the only settings ASH NET fibre needs. There is no username or password – we stopped using PPPoE in January 2026.

Step by step
1. Connect the Technicolor TG789vac v2 to the fibre box
Run an Ethernet cable from the router's WAN / internet port to the activated port on your fibre box (ONT) – the port is named in your activation email and normally has a light beside it. Power the router on and connect a computer or phone to it. If you use a phone, turn mobile data off so it cannot fall back to the mobile network.
2. Open the settings

3. Set the internet connection to DHCP
- Go to Advanced > WAN Services (called Internet on some firmware) and add a new connection.
- Set Type to Ethernet (not DSL), WAN interface to eth0/eth4, Connection type to Dynamic IP (DHCP) and MTU to 1500.
If the router asks for a line speed, use 100/20 for Fibre 100, 500/100 for Fibre 500, 920/500 for Fibre 920, or leave it on automatic.
4. Tag the internet VLAN as 10
- On the same connection enable VLAN tagging (sometimes on a separate 802.1Q tab).
- Set VLAN ID 10 and VLAN priority 0, then save and reboot.
5. Save and reconnect
Apply the settings and give the router a minute or two – most reboot themselves. The status page should then show an internet or WAN IP address from us.
6. Check it works
Open a website, then run a speed test. If the WAN stays blank, go back over steps 3 and 4 – one of the two has not saved – and restart the router.
7. If it still will not connect
Factory reset the Technicolor TG789vac v2 (hold the reset pin for about ten seconds with the power on), set it up again from step 2, and make sure you are using the port on the fibre box named in your activation email. Ex-provider routers are sometimes locked and will not show a VLAN page at all.
Field names move around between Technicolor firmware builds; look for "802.1Q" or "VLAN" on the WAN connection you created.
