Information notes for e-Commerce Site Owners
Your DB_SERVER address is ‘localhost’ on our Pegasus server, but is ‘127.0.0.1’ on all other servers using the Ensim control panel For your Shared SSL address please see the set-up email sent to you The https_cookie_path for shared ssl is ‘/~username/’ If installing in the root of your domain your https_catalog_path is just ‘/’ You set up a blank database via your web hosting control panel Your database name will take the format username_databasename (NB: database names do not contain any dots but underscores) Your MySQL username and password are set up by yourself when using the MySQL Wizard in cPanel If installing in the root of your domain, you should rename the e-Commerce website’s “admin” folder (via FTP) for additional security. Then, in the configuration files, change /admin/ to /newname/

Permission (CHMOD) information
Please DO NOT try to set any folder with Full Permissions (Read, Write and Execute for everyone, or 777). Setting folders with Full permissions is a security risk, and there is no instance where a folder needs permissions of 777 on our servers. Uploaded folders will (by default) have settings of 755, and files will have settings (by default) of 644, which can often be edited using the CHMOD feature in your FTP Programme. Files also cannot have settings of 777. If you try to set files with permissions of 777 it will generate a Server Error and the page will not load.
If you find you cannot reduce permissions e.g. 644 to 444 using FTP then use the File Manager within cPanel

Hosting Control Panel
Via your control panel you can:-> create & manage email users (accounts) -> password protect a directory / folder -> create & manage web users (access to protected folders) -> back up & restoring your site -> create & managing sub-domains-> set up Cron Jobs
Don’t forget that to access your e-mails you will also need to set up e-mail accounts on your own PC/Mac. Advice is available in our online knowledgebase.

Webmail is available for your domain. Webmail allows you to check email online. You will be prompted for your email address and password.

Email Accounts – each user can manage his own User (Email) account online. You will be prompted for your username and password (username is the first part of the email before the + sign in cPanel).

FTP – You can access your site via FTP. When you reach your site you will see a link titled public_html, follow this link to your web folder and it is into this web folder that all of your pages and images must go (with the exception of CGI and Perl content).

Awstats – allows you to monitor your site statistics and is available via cPanel.
